Objectives

  • Outline the indications and applications for performing a GYN ultrasound examination.
  • Identify proper equipment preparation for performing a transabdominal and endovaginal ultrasound examination.
  • State the routine protocol for a transabdominal and endovaginal ultrasound examination.
  • Perform standard measurements included in a routine examination
  • Explain the hardcopy documentation and record keeping included in a routine examination.

Audience

Sonographers, physicians, PAs and other medical professionals involved with performing and interpreting gynecological ultrasound examinations. Physician participants may include (but are not limited to) those whose specialty include: OB-GYN, family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and radiology.
