Dr. Michael Herrick attended Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his Anesthesiology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 2011 where he received the Regional Anesthesia Award as well as the Good Physician Award. He stayed at Dartmouth to do a one year Regional Anesthesiology Fellowship from 2011-2012 under Dr. Brian Sites. Dr. Herrick is currently an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He became the Director of Regional Anesthesia at Dartmouth in 2013 and won the department Teacher of the Year award in 2014.
Dr. Herrick has lectured extensively and conducted multiple workshops throughout the US and abroad, including Portland, ME for the New England Society of Anesthesia; in Chicago, IL and Las Vegas NV for the American Society of Regional Anesthesiology; and in Malmo Sweden, for the Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. He is a reviewer for the three journals and has contributed three book chapters on regional anesthesiology. Dr. Herrick has published research on large outcome data for joint replacements, nerve blocks for shoulder surgery as well as how to teach and evaluate regional procedural skills.
