The Remote Coach™ Virtual Skills Trainer is a revolutionary new system that is designed to offer a live Hands-On training experience remotely without compromising the quality of instruction being given. The Remote Coach™ system connects learners with world-renowned ultrasound experts, enabling groups and individuals to obtain real life, real-time scanning instruction on live patient models, just as if they were at a live Hands-On ultrasound course.
Who can utilize Remote Coach™?
Any medical professional(s) including but not limited to Sonographers, Physicians, NP’s, PA’s, RT’s, etc., that have previously attended a Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute live, blended, virtual, or comprehensive online course in the specialty requested, are eligible for virtual skills training utilizing the Remote Coach™ system. If you have not already completed any of the above prerequisite education, the tuition quoted for your Remote Coach™ Session will also include access to the appropriate Online Course which must be completed prior to the Remote Coach™ Training Session.
How does it work?
- Step 1: Submit your Remote Coach™ Virtual Skills Training “request form”, at which time your educational needs along with various prerequisite education and technical requirements will be verified (including, but not limited to, the remote learner’s internet speed (30Mbps minimum) and Ultrasound Equipment), and a quote will be provided.
- Step 2: Complete any required online course requirements prior to the agreed upon date for your Remote Coach™ Hands-On Session.
- Step 3: A Remote Coach™ Virtual Skills Trainer Kit will be mailed to your facility with step-by-step setup instructions. At an agreed-upon date and time, the Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute remote support team will facilitate the training session between you and your instructor(s).
- Step 4: Upon completion of your virtual skills training session you will return the Remote Coach™ kit with the prepaid return label included in the Remote Coach™ Kit to Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute. At that time, you will also receive your CME credits and your case log.
What to expect?
The Remote Coach™ Virtual Skills Trainer is a revolutionary one-of-a-kind system that utilizes multiple cameras and state-of-the-art technology and software to provide you or your group with one-on-one remote/virtual ultrasound hands-on education with a live, expert instructor and live patient models. The Remote Coach™system is designed to allow users the same experience they would have at a live Hands-On Workshop or Conference, but in a private setting without having to travel. The Remote Coach™system and learning format saves time and money by eliminating travel expenses and time away from work. Additionally, the system allows access to hands on skills training even while many in the medical community face travel and/or other restrictions to attending conferences. The set-up process for the kit is simple and should only take about 5 minutes. After your Remote Coach™ Kit equipment is set up and connected to your ultrasound machine, a member of the Remote Coach™ support team will facilitate the video feed between you and the instructor and ensure that all equipment is set up and working properly before you begin your scanning session. Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute will provide you with a list of any and all requirements/obligations, including the number of model patients and any additional information that may be needed at the time of scheduling your Remote Coach™ Session. Dates for Remote Coach™ Virtual Skills Training are subject to availability, but we do our best to accommodate your preferred schedule. When the virtual training session is complete, you will re-pack the Remote Coach™ Kit as it was when it arrived to you and ship back to Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute using the pre-paid shipping label included in the kit. Remote Coach™ Virtual Training Sessions are approved to provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(™) upon completion and applicable scanning checklists and exam logs may also be provided.
What ultrasound systems are compatible with Remote Coach™?
Most cart-based, bedside, and handheld systems are compatible with Remote Coach™. Verification will be provided after receiving a Remote Coach™ Session request.

Once comfortable with the information schedule a Virtual Skills Training session from anywhere with a high speed internet connection and ultrasound scanning space. We will guide you through setup of the system and facilitate scanning sessions around your schedule.
Groups: Have multiple people? We can send multiple Remote Coach™ Virtual Training Kits and arrange multiple instructors, giving your group the ability to set up Remote Coach™ stations and learn how to perform ultrasound examinations from the comfort of your facility.
Hospital and Provider Networks: Maintain consistency in training and ensure your providers are up to date on current ultrasound protocols and skill sets by offering regularly scheduled Remote Coach™ skills assessment programs at one or multiple or your facilities. Many networks have assigned individual providers the task of training an entire department which can be difficult and time consuming. Your providers may also be obtaining training from different education sources who teach varying methods and techniques for exams and procedures.
