Objectives

  • Increase the participants’ knowledge to better perform and/or interpret lower extremity Venous ultrasound examinations.
  • Apply knowledge of the anatomy/physiology of the lower extremity venous to perform a venous duplex/color flow imaging examination.
  • Perform routine scan protocols, and document Doppler waveforms for venous evaluation of the lower extremity.
  • Differentiate normal/abnormal imaging, spectral Doppler, and color characteristics associated with acute and chronic DVT.

Audience

Sonographers, physicians, physician assistants and other medical professionals involved with performing and/or interpreting peripheral venous ultrasound examinations. Physician participants may include (but are not limited to) those involved with internal medicine, cardiology, radiology, general/vascular surgery, emergency medicine, and primary care.
