Objectives

  • Outline the hip anatomy and recognize ultrasound appearance of the normal hip.
  • Identify common hip pathology as seen with ultrasound.
  • State the importance of dynamic ultrasound imaging of the snapping hip.
  • Recognize the sonographic appearance of muscle and tendon injuries.

Audience

Physicians, PA’s, NP’s, sonographers, and other medical professionals who will be involved with performing and/or interpreting diagnostic MSK ultrasound examinations. Physicians may include (but is not limited to) radiology, sports medicine, orthopedics, PM & R, Rheumatology, Primary Care, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Emergency medicine.
