Objectives

State the clinical indications for performing ultrasound evaluation of the fibular nerve.
List electrophysiologic techniques for assessment of the fibular nerve.

Identify commonly seen fibular nerve pathology recognized with ultrasound and apply diagnostic criteria for accurate diagnosis.

Audience

Physicians, PA’s, sonographers, and other medical professionals who will be involved with performing and/or interpreting peripheral nerve ultrasound and electrophysiologic examinations. Physicians may include (but is not limited to) neurology, pain medicine, PM & R, sports medicine, orthopedics, neurosurgery, anesthesia, and radiology.
