Objectives

State the clinical indications for performing ultrasound evaluation of nerves around the foot and ankle.
Recognize sonographic appearance of the anatomy of nerves around the foot and ankle.
List examination protocols and scan techniques for evaluation of the nerves around the foot and ankle.
Identify commonly seen pathology for nerves around the foot and ankle and apply diagnostic criteria for accurate diagnosis.

Audience

Physicians, PA’s, sonographers and other medical professionals who will be involved with performing and/or interpreting peripheral nerve ultrasound and electrophysiologic examinations. Physicians may include (but is not limited to) neurology, pain medicine, PM & R, sports medicine, orthopedics, neurosurgery, anesthesia, podiatry and radiology.
