Objectives

  • Increase knowledge and competence to perform and/or interpret ultrasound of the appendix and GI tract.

  • Identify ultrasound characteristics associated with pyloric stenosis, intussusception, small bowel obstruction, appendicitis, diverticulitis, Crohn's disease, pneumoperitoneum, and necrotizing enterocolitis.

Audience

Physicians, sonographers, PA's, NP's and other medical professionals involved with performing ultrasound in a primary care setting. Physician participants may include (but is not limited to): primary care/ family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, hospitalists, critical care, gastroenterologists.
