Emily earned her Bachelors in Radiation Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and her Masters of Education at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. She formerly served as the Program Director for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at the University of Colorado Hospital, in Denver Colorado for ten years. She has provided lectures for all content areas of the ultrasound program and as a sonographer, performs general, high risk obstetric and fetal echocardiography ultrasound. She is an active member of SDMS and AIUM, and has several publications. She also served on the board of directors for the International Foundation for Sonography Educators and Research and is active in international education through the World Health Organization and Pan American Health Organization.
With a love for animals, Emily co-founded Focused Ultrasound Resources (FUR), a veterinary sonography company. She has developed educational software for both human and veterinary ultrasound through Rad Imaging skills and currently performs small animal ultrasound throughout the Denver area.
In her free time, Emily loves spending time in the mountains with her family; teaching her sons to ski and exploring new restaurants!
