Overview

Rapid Ultrasound for Shock and Hypotension (RUSH) Webinar is designed to review the use of ultrasound to evaluate the source of shock and hypotension in trauma, critical care, and emergency medicine settings. Scan techniques, protocols, ultrasound characteristics and diagnostic criteria associated with the various etiologies of shock and hypotension are included.

Objectives

  • State an algorithm for assessing causes of hypotension using bedside ultrasound.
  • Recognize normal and abnormal ultrasound appearance of the lungs, heart, inferior vena cava, aorta, and peritoneal space.
  • Outline scenarios where rapid bedside diagnosis of life-threatening pathology can change management in the acutely decompensating patient.
